Your project is prettier than mine is and seems finished better!
For my project, I use a lead-acid battery 1.2 Amp/hr.
I is built-in for it also in the case.
If I include/understand well you chose an option 1 with R 34, R35, R 31, R45, R18, and R23
to leave on the PCB with multi a turn.
The C10 capacitor seems inflated compared to documentation, 4700 µ Wow!
They are not dangerous for the capacitance of the IRF 740?
How did you set R10?
For the assembly how did you proceed?
For the Mosfet, did you leave the IRF 740?
Did you try a BUP or an IGBT such as for example a BUP 400?
It is possible to see more pictures of your project ?
For the Coil, how did you proceed for the shielding?
In addition, what value For R11?
Which type of cable used to connect L1 on the PCB towards the jack?
For my part, I use microphone stereo cable.
I connect the shielding to the "ground" of the battery.
In advance thank you Sorry for my bad English, I’m French ( nobody is perfect )
That is a lot neater than mine also. I mounted 9 VR's to on the outside for experimenting. It gets confusing sometimes. I would like to know which VR's you mounted outside because I am going to build one for water hunting and I will only put the ones I absolutly need outboard.
Thanks

well.....first of all, i want to thanks to Reg and Carl that gave me some good tips at the beginning and want to let you know that the C.Scope coil works fine with the hammer.....and the proof of that are the finds i´ve made on the first test at the beach:
Looks great! Question - where did you find/get the case ( and decals if they were a seperate item)? I didn't see anything like it available on the thhunting/geotech/hammerhead page.
Am consider building the SMT version (actually 2 so the kids can hunt too) as my first attempt at making a detector and, while elect. components are easy to find (ala Digikey) I haven't had much luck finding suppliers for hard components - other than coils or coil cases. I'd love to get some input about places/stores/websites (if there are any) where parts such as adjustable coil arms, cases for the elec. guts, etc. can be found.
