Hi bud, the decals are home made and the box is from electrical equipment, the stem was purchased on ebays auctions and the coil is from a C.Scope 6PI.

If i was you a would start by making the convencional PCB (not SMT),......., believe me !

      Thanks for the info

      Thanks for the info Cesar.

After a little more digging through the catalogs I did find some boxes listed in Digikey, Newark, etc.

I admit the SMTs might be a little ambitious for my first detector project but I do have an ace or two up my sleeve... well, at least a king anyway. We have all the necessary equipment where I work to do mods to SMT boards. I've also got one of the elec. engineers interested and he's agreed to help lend me his experience and help. Plus I'm in no rush - plan to nibble at a little now and then after work over the next 2-3 months. The goal is to have 'em ready for a trip to the beach in April. So, with a touch of luck, it should be the learning experience I'm looking for yet manageable and achievable.

Your feedback on the initial results you achieved - performance, depth, etc. - sounded pretty good. Any further updates or lucky strikes w/ your HH?

      regards,
      Malac
