I have decided to bult the Hamerhead metal detector. So far I have made the coil (9˝ diameter, 572uH, 2,48R), PCB and placed all the part on the board.
Now I have to ask you which controls to put outside (with pots.) and what to keep inside and set with trimmers? I have already build Gary's PI, but this one has more functions and adjustments. I think that the following controls must be outside: R2 - Frequency, R3 - Pulse width, R46 - Sample width and R41 - Volume. Anything else? Perhaps R31?
I also have questions about the values of some components around IC6, vhat are the values of R20, R21, R23 and C16.
For connection of coil you have to use 3 wires, 2 for the windings and 1 for the shield, is this right? The shield is connected to ground (+ VB) and one side of the coil also, that means that I can use only two wires? What about the coil data(9˝ diameter, 572uH, 2,48R), is this OK?
