  • Need information for coils

I need information about designing different types of coils (bigger than 10 inches). And do I need do make some adjusment on PCB. Also, what shielding do you recomend? Is it the best to use aluminum pipe from TV antenna, as I heard?

    Thanks in advance!

The damping resistor is for 500uH coils, so for any size coil, simply make it 500uH and you should not need to change the circuitry.

        not so true

using that formula i can't get 500 mh making 27 turns of 0,4 mm wire! Carl, u didn't answer me about shilding with aluminium pipe from old tv antenas.it is easier to tell mi how many turns of 0,4 mm wire for a 1 m square coil, than explaining to me ))

        THANKS IN ADVANCE

I wouldn't use aerial tubing, probably too thick. Not sure about those formulas... I have a 1m coil that has 8 turns, and I believe it is around 280uH... I will simply adjust the damping resistor. To reach 500uH, you will likely need 11 turns, maybe 12.

            > of 0,4 mm wire

you must get FAT wire. a mistake is people took thin wire and hopes to get a result. NOT TO BE SOMEONE, YOU GOT NOTHING WITH THIN WIRE! fat multicore wire in good isoliation is good decision.
