Hi,
I built a HH over Christmas, and am very happy with it's performance at finding iron
objects...
I live in the goldfields region of Central Victoria, Australia, and during my first test I found more than 30 old nails, 10 bolts, 3 horse shoes, a plumb-bob, a button, plus dozens of other scrap iron objects. This was in old mullock heaps and tailings from shafts. I know the HH can detect my gold wedding ring at more than 12" in air, but how can I modify it so it's no so sensitive to iron? I am only interested in gold detecting, not general metal. Is there a simple way to make the HH discriminate against iron?
Thanks,
steve
