  • Option 1 Jumpers

    Carl,

It seems clear enough but just to confirm; jumpers shown on the Option 1 schematic and layout (Rev C1 - 28Jan2004) supercede those shown silkscreened on the Option 1 board (Rev C - 28Jan2004), correct?

I believe ALL of the jumpers are silkscreened on the PCB. You only install the ones needed for Option 1, per the parts placement.

Well, ferinstance, the parts placement diagram shows a jumper smack where the board has a silkscreened "R8".

And likewise, an "R22" appears on the board while a jumper is shown on the parts placement.

So for that option, those resistors get shorted. And some components are left off.

          Great, thanks.

Yeah, as I said earlier, it's clear from the HH text and schematic that the Placement diagram is right. Just wanted confirmation before I plugged in my iron.

In addition to the business with R8 and R22 there is one more jumper not shown as such on the PC board -- that's the one appearing on the placement diagram as shorting the gate of Q3 to R9, etc.

Hope these observations are helpful toward future revisions.

The board and your work are a real boon to us experimenters.
