555 timer

Question Carl though I am sure it has been answered before.
Will the LMC555 timer work as well as the LM555?
The reason I ask is the part number from Jameco 126797 in your parts list is for the cmos version.

I have used the NE555 and it works fine. I would think at these frequencies the only difference between the various types of 555 ICs is maximum input voltage.
