    Hi Learner,

    The parts list for Opt 2 is almost identical. The only difference is Opt 2 does not use IC9 and a few parts around it. So, if you buy the parts needed for Opt 1, you will have about 5 parts too many. The actual difference between the two options is only in the final audio design.

    I think you will not need, R 39, IC 9, QQ7, C 23, and R 40 if you build the Opt 2 version. I hope I got all of that right. Just look carefully at the two option pics. One is on page 6 and the other is on page 11 of the article and carefully compare the two. You will see that on the non vco unit, IC 9 is not that there, nor are the parts directly associated with it.

    If you purchase all the parts for Opt 1, you will just have a few extra parts, but you will also be able to try that option also, if you so desire. The difference in price for the two options should be minimal, maybe a couple of dollars or so, depending upon where you get your parts.

    Hope this helps.

            Hi Learner,

            I can't help you with where to buy the parts in OZ, but as Exciter noted, Digikey works well.

            Also, you might try Mouser at;

            www.mouser.com

            Another good place is Futurlec. Here you buy parts such as resistors in packs of 10, at a real cheap price. I recommend the 1/4 watt metal film types rather than the carbon film.

            The Futurlec website is;

            www.futurlec.com

            Hope this helps.

                Hi Learner
                Am in Darwin. I got most of my parts from Jaycar , Dick Smith and Farnell by post.
                HOpe this helps . All of the above should have some or all of the parts you need. Farnell is the better option for specific devices like the Mosfets. Jaycar and Mr Smith are good for the pots , caps and resistors and some IC's
                cheers
