  • hh depth on 1 €cent

    HI

I would like to known how deep can hh detect 1 €cent (if somebody is from europe), beacuse i can detect it at 14cm and i dont known if these is normal hh detection.
    I am using: 24cm diameter , 26 turns and 0,41mm Cu wire.

    Thanks,

And i have another problem my sound is not good, the pitch is not stable it is varing. If i change main delay is sound better but detection is then lower. At tp5 i can see signal which is varing the pitch sound.

Somethink is oscilating in circuit, i think the capicatnce of coax cable is in the game, beacuse when i use shorter cable the oscilations are lower. I can detect a 10*10cm alu. plate at 50cm but is hard to hear beacuse of oscilations. I tried outdoor and the answer was almost same without big
changes. I am using shielded coil.

        Hi Elos,

I have made my first HH today..
With 24cm dia coil (362uH/1.1ohm/unshielded) and HH consuming 0.11A,
        here are some air tests:
        1cent---22cm
        50cent--28cm
        2eur----33cm
        10x10cm copper plate---75cm

            Hi Elos,

Something is really wrong if you can detect stones or the walls in your house. You might be detecting the nails in the walls, or there may be a lot of scrap metal outside, but you will not detect most stones. If the stones are basalt and from a volcano, then you may be detecting them.

As for the oscillations, I suspect this is noise caused by something local transmitting it. You should try to adjust the pulse rate very slowly to see if the oscillations change. If they do, then adjust for the least amount of oscillations. Then try the detector out in the country away from any city noise to see if it is better there.

Where do you live Elos? Do you live near a volcano or an ancient volcano? Is your house exterior walls made from the local stones?

Let us know more about what is happening.

            Reg

I live in Slovenia (central europe), and i dont live near volcano and my house is made from local stones (CaCO3). I didnt try any tests away from city just outdoor. I was trying to adjust pulse rate but then detection was poor.

                Hi Elos,

                check folowing:

make sure you use only components needed for your setup (vco/non-vco)
(I made this kind of a mistake while building it..with simmilar results)

make sure sample delay is not too long (as you probably use high frequency).

                  ELOS,
Kindly send me the HH option and changes that you have made for your good detector, please
                  Thank you
                  Chris
