VCO Frequency?

My Hammerhead is build and *almost* working. I'm trying for the VCO option. R55 and R39 are each 1K. C22 is 0.1 microfarad. The VCO runs at about 5 KHz, and metal near the coil drives it higher yet. It works, but the tone is far too shrill. What am I doing wrong?
