HHd1 Thru-hole boards are back! (kind of)

Howdy folks,
Carl has given me the go-ahead to have a few HammerHead through hole boards made and to sell the 'extras'. It has been a bit of a pain, but I found a PCB fab house with a 'reasonable' price. I've ordered a short run to check the quality, and when they arrive (about 10 days or so from now) I will have 8 of the test run left to sell, if any of you are interested.

I wish that I could get them made as cheaply Carl did, but, alas, times have changed. If anyone is interested, the cost/board is $15usd for North America (Canada and Mexico included), and $18usd overseas, including shipping (unless you live in Antartica or someplace else really weird).

If there is enough interest after this run, I will put in another order to the PCB fab house for more, but I WON"T ORDER MORE UNLESS I SEE INTEREST/PRE-ORDERS.
Feel free to speak up now....I need to know if anyone wants thru-hole HH boards! If there is enough interest, more will be on the way.

BTW- I'm not making squat on these (though I'm not going to loose money, either, I'm not a charity...), but I feel that the HH has kinda 'died' without them. I'ld like to get the enthusiam back on the HH project board. I doubt that there is a better PI experimenter's platform available for the 'do-it-yourself' folks.

I intend to move my final design to one of Carl's SMD boards, once my 'play time' is over. The SMD's will be smaller and more reliable in the end. Indeed, SMD preformance should be superior to thru-hole for a number of reasons (Tech geeks should have already figured that out....).

Anyway...waddya think?

The first boards (testing the fab house) should be here before the end of next week. If I'm happy with the quality of the boards, you are first on the list (that leaves 7 more before this run is gone).
I can get the price down a couple bucks (USD's) if I order more (25 or more), but I need to know that I won't be sitting on 20 unbuilt HammerHeads that I don't need.
I'll post a 'for sale' on the appropriate board here with my Paypal address (Paypal or US money order) after I check these out. The boards are being manufactured from Carl's original gerber files, so I don't expect any problems.

Got you down for two, that leaves three from this test batch.

I'll post the particulars for payment in a pvt message for you and those who have 'pre-ordered' (after I check out the boards. They should be shipping to me anytime now).

I don't want anyone to go through the disappointment of no board(s) and a refund by ordering when there are none left (or something goes wrong...).
I'll order a larger run if these work out and enough folks show interest, at which time I'll probably post them in the for-sale forum.

HHd1 boards have shipped!!

The test run of HHd1 boards shipped today. I'm watching my UPS tracking (come on, UPS, hurry up!). I'll let all of you who 'pre-ordered' know when they get here and post a pic.
If anyone else would like a board or so, let me know. I will re-order once the total reaches 10 boards or more (minimum order). 25 boards would end up a couple bucks cheaper if there's enough interest....
Anyway, the new boards should be here by Mon. or Tues. WhooHoo....

Hey all,
The boards got here this afternoon and they look great. So...
I will send a pvt mail to those above who pre-ordered later this eve.





They sent one extra board (go figure...). If anyone NOT on the current order list would like it, let me know.

I might order more next month. If I do, I'll place them in the for sale threads.

Lastly, I'ld like to thank Carl for allowing me to have these boards made. Without his support and hard work, those of us with these boards would be fighting point-to-point wiring or spending our time making boards instead of building (if we had a schematic to work from at all). Thanks, Carl!
