  • Etched Coil? Less Capacitance?

Has anyone tried a Etched coil to loose some capacitance?

On the Sands Bank project, it is most recommended and I have not seen mention of it within here.

    it depends...

    Hey homefire,
If you do a forum search on PCB coils you will find that they can work well, but they probably aren't worth the cost in etching, materials, and time.
And it depends on what you are searching for (small gold, cannon balls?).
For the latter, you need a large coil. for the former, a PCB coil might work.
There are several threads regarding this very question.
A through search of both this board and Eric Foster's board should answer your questions.
Generally, the copper on the board is to thin to (help me out here guys), ...well, never mind, I guess you have to read the posts. Wish I could be of more help.
