    This may help someone selse.
I saw some info in the TGSL tuning thread about using USB cable instead of coax for the coil connection.
I have tried RG58 & RG59 coax with varying degrees of success. I've just done quick test with a couple of homemade coils and the results look very promising in comparison to the coax.
It is also more flexible than the coax and give the option of seperate rx and tx coils ( 4 core plus shield ) in the one cable.
I just sacrificed an old USB cable by cutting the ends off. I have discarded the ferrite beads that were on the cable. Not sure what effect, if any, they may have had.

    Thanks for info.

Do you use only 2 of cores and left 2 uncoupled or you use 2 for TX and 2 for RX (togheter)?

Just got back from a couple of days away earning brownie points with the boss

I used the red and black wires for the TX ( and for a mono coil ). I use the white and green ( actually a twisted pair ) for the RX.
And I earth a shield at the coil end to the cable shield and terminate the cable shield at the electronics end.
