  • HH ver D thru-hole board - dimensions?

I obtained a file (HHd1.gif), which is the artwork for the 2 sided ver D thru-hole circuit.

I plan on making the PCB myself, using transparencies & sensitized PCB. But I would like to have some distance references, to verify the board is scaled properly for IC pin spacing. When making prior PCBs (15-30 years ago), I would include crosshairs for the photolab to scale the transparencies correctly, but I see no such distance references on this GIF file.

Does anyone know the distance spacing between the 4 hole centers on the far corners of the board? They look to be 2.5" x 3.0", but I'm measuring with a ruler on my display, which may not be scaling it perfectly.

Can anyone confirm the two side distances between the far corner holes of this ver D board?

    Thanks!

    hello Kevco,

real problem you meet of... what to recommend...maybe untradional way... but thinking absoliutely precise.

    1. find and write in Program Files Sprint Layout 5.0. (Sprint-Layout), it is very simple CAD in use.
    2. convert your GIF in BMP - you need to have any grafic editor on your PC for it.
    3. load Sprint Layout
    4. load the file as Background Image.

you will see clear picture with all sizes.

The size of the RevD HH board is 101mm x 84mm.

Qiaozhi, can you give a link Kevco and me on Sprint Layout 5.0? (cracked) I have only Russian version of the soft.

kt315, thanks for information about the CAD program. I don't use Microsoft, so I can't use the program. I found the dimensions another way.

Qiaozhi, I later determined the board size, from the IC pin spacing, and scaling the board size from that. I came up with 3.3" x 4.0", which very closely matches your 101m x 84mm. You have confirmed dimensions.

            Thanks, that's what I wanted.

              Hi Kevco,

I took the measurements from an actual RevD board.

                Sorry - I don't use Sprint Layout.

Thank you for measuring your ver D board.

This HH may be a project during this Winter, if not sooner.

Kevco, can you share me this HHd1.gif file?

                      kt315,

Yes, I renamed the file, so I know it is the PCB. Here it is:

                        kt315,

The file attachment doesn't look like it worked.

I don't have a website to download it from.

How can I send this file to you? By email?

It did load, but the image is enormous. You should try to restrict the image size to a maximum of 800x600. If you need to load a higher resolution, then attach it as a zip file. I have modified your original post.

                              Thank you!

Sorry, I just posted it as I found it, but most of it was blank image space. The download link looks far better anyway!

BTW, I do not know for certain that PCB layout is correct. Beware!
