    Compared to a

Surf Pi - is the mmp similar?

    Or

deus on stock 9" - is similar to mpp?

    Any vids welcome.

I got access to an archaeological dig today and was curious about a pokey Pi as a depth beast compared to the Deus...

A PI detector will not do so well in an air test when compared to a VLF, but the main difference is when they are used in real soil conditions. The VLF will typically lose about 1/3rd of it's depth in the ground, and some detectors can lose as much as 50%. On the other hand, a PI will give about the same depth in the ground as it does in an air test. Some people even claim that a PI goes deeper in the ground.

The Surf-PI and the MPP will give similar results. However, the Surf-PI has a beep-type audio, whereas the MPP uses a VCO, and the VCO approach tends to provide greater depth.
