What is the difference between the MiniPulse and the MiniPulse Plus??

I have an original MiniPulse made by Location Technology. It has the factory coil....on most of the Pics on this project the coil did Not seem to be finished just showing the wires??...not sealed up in the coil housing. Is there a problem with making the coil water or weatherproof??.....I can send Pics if anyone needs to see what the original looks like! From a hobbyist viewpoint is there anyway that I can upgrade my factory made detector??.....Thanks Joe
