Thanks for the update on that mod KRinAZ, its appreciated.

I pulled the resistors out that I had replaced for the mod and changed back to original spec so to start testing again, will use the method you mentioned
to try again. It did go back to normal once changed back so will be able to play with it some more.

Also for headphones the Garret AT water proof are pretty good. They have a volume limiter so not to blow your head off on large items while still being very clear on small targets. They are about 85 bucks and come with a cover cap that can be used for mounting making the connection waterproof if you plan on a wader unit.
      Looking Good!
The Garret waterproof headphones have Piezoelectric transducers in them.
you can get them from RS-components @ $2.75 AU each

No other components there (perhaps the limiter is with in the detector)
i had to rewire and repair my underwater haedphones many times.

        Thanks Nickel-n,
I haven't had mine apart yet but by their behavior I assumed their was a volume limiting circuit.
When a larger item is introduced close to the coil the headphones go to about 1/4 volume. It could just be what happens to the buzzers if overloaded?
        Be Well!

Finally getting finished up with my MPP

Sorry for bumping this up but thought I'd add some pics of the project being finished. I have been busy with work and other projects so hadn't had time to finish this up but now I am.

Started working on finding a case that would work for how I wanted to build this, finally did find what would work, painted it up and am in the process of layout and putting it all together.

Started with front panel layout, then rear panel layout and interior battery placement since this unit will have the battery onboard inside with a charge socket on the rear panel. Added an led to the front panel (still need to wire it in) for main panel on/off with Delay, Threshold, Sat and Gain controls. Rear panel will have coil plug, charge socket for internal battery along with a small hole for its internal battery light for when charging. Will be drilling speaker grill holes on top of unit, which will be wired with the headphone jack so will be able to use with either. Will keep you updated on progress.

Below are some current pics from this week, I will update as I finish it up.

              Hey 6666,

The case is one of these from ebay. Its big enough to get all controls, board and battery inside.. I painted it with hammer bronze...

                    Your welcome 6666...
I know this box is a bit more expensive but it is well worth it since it is super light weight, has a removable slide in top to make access to inards very easy. The best part is the length, width and height is bout perfect for most all builds.

                      Finished MPP pics included

Ok guys, last installment to this thread, she is finished and now a completed unit.

The shaft assembly is one of the few I picked up off ebay from Bulgaria seller. Coil shells are all from Don here at geotech, this coil was temp for pics off my mirage, although it is wired the same and correct uH so I can use it with this unit if I choose. The case is also off ebay (link above). I painted it with Bronze hammer but left the front and rear panels unpainted for contrast.

The front panel has the pulse delay, threshold, sensitivity (gain) and SAT along with headphone jack and board on/off switch. The knobs are from marshall guitar amplifiers and it added a nice touch. I also added a light on the front panel just for my personal preference with a 510R resistor so it isn't so bright.

I made a shelf setup inside the rear to hold the battery in place as it sits and fits nicely for this case. I shortened the stock wiring on the battery to lessen the amount of wire coiled inside as well.

The rear panel has the on/off switch for the internal battery along with the charge plug, this will make it simple to charge anywhere anytime without having to remove the battery. The speaker grill is on the bottom along with pipe mounts for the shaft.

I spent some time on this one and really like how it turned out. Can't wait to get out and giver her a run on the claim.

                      Final pics...

Outstanding! Great looking detector. Let us know how it performs in the wild.
                        Have a great day,
