Hey guys, I seem to be having Interference issue, I got permission to detect an older church grounds, which is next to a road that has normal street power lines running along side , and a big grey box that is used by Videotron which is one of the bigger Tv/internet/telephone providers in my area, the Minipluse plus work with out a problem every where else but there, What is happening is the Audio becomes grungy, it doesn't seem to effect the depth of the coil but makes it very hard to find deeper faint stuff because of Audio noise. Would it be because my coil is not shielded or because the controller box is not shielded? I believe its some kind of wifi interference because if im to close to my house, near my router it makes a similar grouting noise Any ideas on how I could solve this issue other then not metal detecting there hahaha

With a plastic case, you should also make sure to ground the body of the coil connector.

What Qiaozhi said, you can also use the quick and dirty method to test if the plastic control box needs shielding, simply run out a wire from 0 volts to an alligator clip,
so you dont short out any controls that have battery on them, headphones etc, first wrap the box in plastic kitchen food cling wrap or whatever its called in your country, then completely wrap the box in aluminium kitchen foil being careful not to short anything out and attach grounded alligator clip to foil, looks horrible but it works.
If the coil is not shielded then results may vary. Use at own risk.
