  • Ground Loop

    Hello All, Hello Qiaozhi

I learned about pcb ground loop and i am newbie in this case, and i see pcb mpp has some ground loop in its pcb,

What effects and symptoms caused this ground loop?

and how important the ground loop is in the metal detector.

    Regard,
    Wahyu

You're confusing a ground plane with a ground loop. A ground loop can occur when there are two points in an electrical circuit that are supposed to be at ground potential, but a potential difference exists between these two points. When this happens you can get problems with noise.
The MPP has a ground plane on the bottom layer. Its main purpose is to provide a return path for current from the various components on the PCB, and it helps to prevent ground loops.
In high-speed designs (which does not apply to the MPP) a ground plane is also used to control crosstalk between signals. However, high-speed design can be a bit of a black art. See: "High-Speed Digital Design (A Handbook of Black Magic) by Howard Johnson and Martin Graham".

Are you asking about the purple on the bottom?
If so then that is a "ground plane" and not a loop.
A 'ground plane' ensures an Low Impedance 'ground return' and helps reduce 'ground bounce' and noise.

Perzo - You only need to post your PCB layout into the forum once, NOT 6 times in various threads.
I have removed all the duplicate copies.
