  • MPP Beach (Rev-E) Double D coil

Does anyone have experience of using a Double D coil with the MPP Beach (Rev-E), looking at the plug wiring on page 13, am I to presume the 'Balanced coil' is double D configuration?, what is the component between pin 1 and pin 3 ?, what is the value?, the coil I am using has pin 1 shielding, pin 2 Rx, pin 3 shielding, pin 4 Rx, pin 5 unused, any help would be appreciated.

Rd is a damping resistor for the RX coil, but its only needed if the RX coil of the DD you are using does not have one

The Balanced Coil can be a DD or a Concentric or one of the other Balanced coil arraignments.

And do not forget to adjust value of Rd to damping the RX coil as 6666 said.

Thanks for that, the coil Im using is sealed, any way to check if there is a damping resistor?

connect preamp output to your o-scope and you 'll see the ringing or not see. simplest effective way.

Thanks, I will check this out, any guidance for the value of the damping resistor?

Must to determined empirically. Lots of posts about adjusting damping R and same as done with a mono coil.
