  • Finished my Minipulse Rev D - 3D printed, conduit, drill battery pack.

Hey everyone. I saw the sticky for completed builds has been locked, but I also didn't see anything saying "DON'T POST THEM!" So mods, sorry if this is against a rule I didn't see.

About 3 years ago I was interested in making a coil former for the minipulse, and I bought a kit but never got around to making it a useful outdoors-going metal detector.

This year I bought a metal detector and finally finished.

If you want to see a lot of dull construction, oscilloscope, 3D model and other pictures and read too much text you could take a look at grayunicorn.com which is just my blog. NO ads, nothing for sale, etc.

Or, the pictures that matter - the finished metal detector:

I hope it's going to be robust enough for the kids to take into the bush - it's certainly going to have enough battery endurance

If you would like your finished build to feature in the completed projects then please e-mail all the details to me and I will add them to the list. The thread is locked on purpose to keep everything tidy, so that every man and their dog cannot post there. However, I'll be unable to do the update until I get back home later this month.

your detector has no problem in handling 18 volts, did you check all parts to make sure they can handle that voltage.

He is stepping the 18 volts down to 12 volts as he describes in his blog.
          Cheers
