  • Wire size from potentiometer to board

Cant find an answer, soooo, what are you all using to connect the potentiometer to your board, maybe 3 wire auto tail light ,brake wire which is like 24 gauge and comes in 3 colors, i thought i read some where thicker wire would be better because of cross over signal and put shrink wrap around wire and pot contacts. Or are you all using some kind of multi wire pre made for pcs or something.

I use servo wire http://hansenhobbies.com/products/co...wire/servo_dx/ from this seller. Or get a bundle of these, snip off one end connector and use pin headers on the PCB. Or even cut in half for male/female connections for other needs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/50-Pcs-15cm...EAAOSwnDxUh8ET

thanks, Sven, what is weird i fly radio control planes and drones, i use those extensions and didnt even think of them, thought the wire was to small, cool thing to know, i checked ebay and found some pc extensions and have them save in my list, i was think 20cm, and then cut in half, that gives me 2 ends to hookup and 2 ends to solder.

I also use Servo leads for pots. Wire size is plenty large and the 3 pin connector handy to plug onto PCB header.

I just built a signal generator kit (square, sine, and triangle wave)to try my soldering and in case i screw up, only 7 dollars instead of a 30 some dollar MD pcb board, have not tested yet because no scope, 1 thing i had to solder was a 4 pin square pcb header, must have held the tip to long because the pin slid out a little while i wa soldering, good thing i am practicing, ordered new solder flux core maybe my solder a little old.

do these wires carry any large current, or just ohms, small current from pcb board to pot
