    hello detectorists
i ve been touched by the detection fever sikkness and finally decide to build tesoro goden sabre lite of mr ivconic last ver and of others and i'm always looking or "dreaming"
to reach "to build" the stronger and the better detector "handymaden" witch can satisfy my needs and simplefy the propection with the simple tools we got between hands
i see that all people in this forum are a succes and got personality cos they choose to kill the MD PRICES LOL which are imagenary for some technologies like the minelab
gpx...and the xp .......5000 euro and more etc so ...
if you want to laught here in my place "algeria counrty " thers some people buying detectors brought from europe or usa for the price of a new CARs " here
SO YU CHOOSE TO BUY A BRAIN NEW CAR OR AN MD LOOOOOOOOOL hard choice isn't it looooooooooooool
to be honest my first goal of building MD s is to earn money the steps for fortune and that is by finding tresors or gold "natural" , fun an pleasure of a discovery comes second cos its risky job cos yu may fall into a bomb buried since wars or so ....lol
the second dark side of the prospecting its the authority witch till now we don't know if detecting its forbiden or not with this fake democracy and why ::: "let people live"

    so at last

i ve built the ivconics tgsl last version as discribed im not so so good in elctronics but im always open to learn cos i like i got some skills by my experiences

so iv built also the coils 1st tx98 27cm resistance i think 25 or 25 ohm
rx 107 turns -27 cm not shided

and connect and start ............i here a very week piiiiii sound but feel the unit alive but the coil is dead nothing no detections just piiiiiiiiiii i didn't do any testpoint iwould
just have an idea of where the problem can be ?
mayb fets or caps or coil i dnt knw really ...so need some help and i will folow and learn lol
have no lcr and no oscillo what a poor man lloooooooooooooooollll

im waiting in cold for a help

Make some close up photos so that some experienced eye may find what may be wrong
Make photos of your coil as well

      hi davor
      the photos are comming soon
im hearring like a sound that the unit is on but no reaction i feel that the tx module is on but the rx is sleeping
tested some points at lm s and lf s found +9v but no negativ source at the pin's 4 of lf353 u101a voltage at the tx +9volt
      +9v at out lm 7808
      can do more chekpoints
      coils are about 25.xx ohms
      and 23 24 ohms
      the sound too weak

The caps you have installed are a little large physically but are of the correct value. Here is some information that may help sort out cap values: http://www.csgnetwork.com/capcodeinfo.html

when i connect to 12v i hear a sound that the tgsl is on but no reaction may be due to my bad coil cause i really don't know how uh is just tested by multimeter

At this point pretty much everything is suspect until you can prove that it is not your problem. Start with the oscillator. Connect your coil and check to see if it is actually oscillating. You can look at it with your scope and measure it with your meter. Unless you have a tx osc signal, nothing else is going to work.

Once you have established that the oscillator is working, move on to the power supply. Check each IC at their supply pins for the proper + and - voltages. These also need to be correct or at least close for the detector to work. You can also remove all the IC's except for the CD4024 and check for voltages.

I have a longer list but that should be enough to point you in the right direction.

It it rare that one can build up a board with this much stuff on it and have it work the first time you turn on the power. This is part of the process.

                          Jerry
