  • TGSL problem,Hello everyone, can someone help me ?

TGSL I made this scheme and does not work at any sound or oscillation, the first power only PAC and ready, but I found some problems. Did anyone give the assembly if I want to know if it can detailed pictures and explanations. I only used parts new and accurate.
    Thanks in advance ...

I made two boards we have used new and fixed values, we Facu three coils 99-104,98-107,100-105 spire.Bobinele works TGSL Edu.A someone made this scheme? works if he did something change?

No scope makes troubleshooting difficult. Your only option is to find your mistake visually. Look for bad solder joints or bridges. Then replace socketed IC's. Remove and test every transistor. PM me when you run out options. I'm going to bet that you had one or all of your transistors installed backwards at one time and fried at least one of them if your oscillator does not run.

I did two assemblies and both have the same symptoms, I disassembled one and I checked all the active parts IC, transistors in TGSL edu and are good BF245C, 2N2222, 2N2907A, LF353N, LM358N, LM393N, LF442CN, LM308N, HCF4024BE, MPS A14 are ok.Am made 3 pairs of coils, we modified oscillator using EDU TGSL scheme did not work, everything sounds continue, I sound like the EDU so on, and so I rebuilt .... But someone has done this scheme? I checked 3 times LAY check again, excuse my English, all the best

I'm sorry, one more question I read this forum several times I think I learned almost by heart, but not found something concrete, did anyone question this scheme? is it ok? and what coil used? Thank you

Can you not get access to an oscilloscope?
Although not impossible, your chances of success will be highly improbable without it.
I would probably only attempt to fix this without a scope if I had a fully working identical copy to compare.

                          Hi
The TGS you have built is from the very early days, hand drawn circuit so not sure if its proven to be accurate or even working.
If you look carefully through Geotech you will find a revision of your build.
I don't think the circuit you have built is the TGSL its the TGS Which has the original notch filters etc as per manufacture, The tgsl which in the early days came in two versions either EDU or Ivonics which is a updated modified, simplified version of the TGS, Which may I add has been well proven on Geotech , It was and properly still is the most popular and most built Induction Balance format metal detector project on this site.
Now... if by chance you have got a working design the first thing to do is tidy up your boards because these designs will not tolerate excess flux , you got so much on there your camera image is like looking into a puddle of water.
Secondly I agree with Dons comment regarding 2n2907 and 2n2222, there are 3-4 different pin outs on these particular transistors , contact manufacture or supplier , and then double check with meter.
If you read up on the TGSL early pages you will see that lots of us got caught out on that one , In fact at one point me and Ivonics were having a depute on how many different pin outs were actually available .
Anything after that far as fault finding you really do need a scope its paramount.
                          Regards
