Yes, every elco above 16v is better. Sometime i put what i got, 63v, 100v. All works same.

Hello guys. I have a question is the Fisher 1266x superior to Tesoro Golden Sabre Light. One of my friend has got one and I have my TGSL but had no time to compare the two, thanks in advance.

Already buy the multimeter, switch on 200mV AC, but.... I can make it to 0.04v, always stuck on 30.0 or 00.0, only chages when i move and back to previous value....is there something wrong?.
And when im using 15v battery the speaker make fast beep beep beep..... continously until the sound is slowly reduced and gone.

        Pcb setup

        Is this normal for DMM?

Such erratic behavior is most likely because of not well balanced coil .
It is not easy to balance coils. It is somewhat painful job. Me personally, i hate that part!
Be patience and give it a try.
But you should also know that some coils are not possible to balance well, in case you mismatched the values too much.
For TGSL as well as for all other older Tesoros detectors which are using older coils, most proper values would be:

          - TX = 5.7-5.8mH / 21-22 ohms
          - RX = 6.2-6.3mH/ 22-23 ohms

In the past i made lot of TGSL copies. Maybe i made 200 coils so far for them, not sure, never counted them.
30% of those coils were totally impossible to balance well, total mismatch.
Due various reasons, maybe thickness of wire, maybe wrong count of windings, maybe wrong "D" shape...
I never really inspected that to details. Usually i toss such coil and start making another one.
Sometimes is easier to make another one than to troubleshoot problematic one.
However; it is easier to balance DD coil when "D" shape is "curvy" and is having more "belly" in the cross section.
Other words; when "detection area" is more elliptical.
          ...
As for the DMM behavior; i don't think it is normal. It is indeed strange!?
Looks like the oscillator inside is "free running" due some mechanical stress, some cold junction or what?

Looking again at your coil... totally flat!
Hard to balance! No wonder at all!
For the beginner; you'll better make another, but this time correct the winding former and put some "belly" on the cross section side.

Some "Belly" like in "A" Ivconic ?

                Yes!
                Correct!
I was looking for that picture but i couldn't found it.

Ivconic sir, please look at this
                  https://youtu.be/ghCXZYKbBp4

I bend it like the pic above, is that okay?
Its only detect coin about 10cm and make 2 tones not like other members built.
The last time i have bad range is because wrong resistor in barracuda, maybe i put wrong value resistor or i make another mistake? I will check latter

                  Pot setting
                  Geb max
                  Sens max
                  Disc lv off
                  Disc all metal

It is better now, you are closer to get it.
Double tone... why don't you reverse RX pins and see what will happen?

Nothing hapend, quit no sound at all, i forgot to attach ground to J1-2 double tone is gone, but still i dont know how to proper nulling, coin only get about 15cm.
Should i put - on battery and + to two Rx or one, or both Rx to + and - DMM then turn on tgsl?

When i use two used square 9v battery at 13.8v, pin 4 opamps is -4.37v, did i have faulty battery or tgsl can handle only 12v?

Use multimeter, set to AC 200mv range or 2v if u dont have 200mv, connect plus probe to pin 7 on LF353, minus probe to GND battery. Move coils and try to get smallest AC voltage which u can achieve and inform us again. If not working, there are maybe other methods.

13.8v battery status? Well, you have there near 7 volt per battery, so batteries are empty dude, replace them.
For nulling/balancing coils, you need something like aku battery, aproxx 1000mA power to handle all that playing and beeps when u balancing.
Even, if must use 9v battery, try to use alkaline type. They are stronger.

Thanks for the clue, let me try it now

I see, let me stick with 8 AAA 11.5v alkaline battery.

Its work.... increase only 1cm from 15cm, needs more
                              0.03v
Already chexk all resistor value, nothing wrong

Did u tried to change rx capacitor? Start with 10n, and add 1n by 1n to se difference, also when u doing that, check if reject ferite rod.
