TGSL EDU Part Replacements

Anyone have a recommendation for replacing the LM7808CTFS ic in parts list? I'm having some trouble figuring out what to get to replace it. And if possible I'd like to find it on digikey. I'm ordering all of the parts I dont oalready have through them. With shipping costs being the nightmare they are sometimes coupled with the amount of time it takes companies to ship to my location I'd rather just get it all from one place.

You can use any kind of low voltage drop 8 volts positive voltage regulator, for example LM2940.

Sorry for the late reply. But thanks for all the info. Just ordered the parts today. Also finished up my minipulse rev e. Putting that together for my daughter to play with. I'm quite pleased with how it performs. Im hitting on a 20 euro cent at about 12 inches deep on an 8 1/4" coil. Having trouble getting the DD I wound to work right. Dont really understand the damping resistors well. Just need to play more.
