If you plan to make a PCB redesign maybe you can implement the Bandido Saltwater/Beach modification in your next design. The modification was posted in the Geotech forum a few month ago.

I did that mod. I just would point out that in that salt mode you will detect iron. So I don't know if you can really call it a success. It is just a way to swing the balance over to the salt side. It is not currently in my machine due to this side effect.
