  • TGSL volume control

    Hi to all,
a my friend have finish the TGSL. Circuitry working good but the audio is very strong. Ask if is possible to mount a potentiometer for audio control.
    Thank you in advance.

I am also just building a TGSL and have noted a lack of volume control.

Ran some LTSpice simulation on the audio circuit.

One way is to add a series resistance between the speaker and collector of TR3, from 100mA to 50mA.
60 Ohms will half the current into the speaker.
10k will reduce the speaker current 720uA.
So maybe a 10k Log pot will work.

Another way is to add a pot from the base of TR2 & R45 to ground.
3k will half the speaker current so try a 10k log pot.

I have NOT tried these in a real circuit but plan to.

I am very interested in what others may have done to obtain volume control and if you try these please post your results.

Check the other Tesoro schematics like the Bandido:

      Hi Waltr,
thank you for info; I think use the second way because the pot. in series at speaker for me do not work on linear mode.
      All the best.

Just put a pot in series 1k and you will arrange the sound as u want.1k can take all the sound off and its enough.
