    Good morning all !!
here I would like to know, once the reel is done,
should I wrap it in (1) first with electrical tape?
    then after (2) with aluminum?

    or the opposite ?

    no idea.

I have tried both way and many more

    everything I tried failed

One was okay for a bit but failed a few months later

graphite and PVA glue is fine though.

think ? it might depend on your aluminium and tap wire as aluminium oxide is an insulator. Or is there some reaction between the tin on the wire and the aluminium.

I always first wrap with electrical tape.
Then the shield then another layer of electrical tape.

The idea is to ensure the wires in the coil do not move and found that it is better if the wires are bound with an adhesive before wrapping. I have been impregnating the coils with polyurethane (wood finish) to produce a rigid coil.

The first TGSL coil I build I shielded with aluminum foil it worked but did not have the distance others got.
Second TGSL coil I shielded with a graphite/polyurethane mixture and used a very thin bare tinned wire (32ga) wraps with a wide spacing as a drain in the graphite.
      Second coil worked better.

Sorry, but coils are potted in epoxy and I did not take pictures before.
I probably have notes of detection distances somewhere but unknown where they are now.

Hi Rajesh, Darrell hall here, 10 inch concentric did I build based on another members prescription, it worked brilliantly. But there is a little trick to balancing the thing. I would not advise any clown to make such an attempt unless you are meticulous human.
Don Bowers was the member name. I build according to his instructions, and behold, it worked like magic.

Is this not what you are looking for? "TGSL 101" (parts 1&2).

hi surf detector we have already read all document there are only DD coil detail not concentric coil

Tx coil = 30 awg wire clockwise on a 8 inch diameter form. 6mh inductance
Rx coil =30 awg wire clockwise on a 4 inch diameter form. 6.5 mh inductance
Bx coil = 23 turns Reverse clockwise directly on top of the Rx coil

TGSL is working well with concentric coil BUT 101A PIN NUMBER 7 VOLT IS 1.6 . how to reduce this

Do I have to reduce or increase the turn of the bucking coil ?
