  • Bandido II again...

    Hi,

I'm looking for the right schematic about the Bandido 2.
There are a lot of differences or errors between all the schematics i've seen.

    Thanks a lot for answer.

*I'm french, excuse me for my bad english.

I believe the info at my link below is pretty good. I built it and it works well.

But Get it Quick, I am about to delete it all.

Bandido has 3 channels and a reputation of poor disc. detector. Bechcomber has ONE channel and not so bad discrimination.

WHY A BRAND DOES THREE CHANNEL PRODUCT?

            Re: Bandido II again...

I think it works pretty good, But I only built it out of curosity. Besides it didn't really cost me anything as I have a Huge inventory of parts. I haven't played with detectors that have descrimination before, so it was more a learning experience.

I only built it to a point of testing it on my bench and a bit im my back yard.
It is still sitting on my work bench and someday I will take the IC's out of it and throw it away as I don't have any use for it.

I like my PI Unit, Less fiddling around and it does all I need and want. I'm not into treasure seeking, more into designing new stuff and having fun.

            Take care.....Gary

              Dear Gary,

              Like me !

So, Carl wrote "On my Bandido III uMax, I replaced this obnoxious method with a bicolor LED. When the battery is above 6v, the LED glows green for 3 seconds. When the battery is below 6v, the LED glows red. However, this circuitry is different than the Bandido, and would need more redesign."

Can you publish the schematic ?

              Thanks a lot.

Remind me in a few days, I'm currently in Florida enjoying the hurricane.

i think, Bandido could be modified by 2 ToneID. without any difficulties. what about manual tuning re-building i do not know result, but it's very simple re-make. i think you can add a small pcb. the module will include all that above - cd4066, op amp, retune resistor, switch.

                    Bandido II again and again

                    Hi Carl,

First of all, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I downloaded all of the Bandido stuff and
think about starting to built it.
Are you,or someone else, able to post a list of all the parts needed, like ICs, Transistors, Resistors, Caps etc.

                    Regards from Germany

I haven't made a material list, but I think everything is marked on the schematic.
