  • TGSL Problem

    Hi Guys,

    I built the circuit with the instructions in "TGSL Complete Details". I took measurements from the places marked on the diagram
    *Speaker not working (no sound)
    *TGSL didn't work, I'm waiting for help.
    *I used CA3130 instead of TL071.
    Note: I also tried TL071, but it didn't work.
    *I used 0.40 instead of 0.30 as coil wire.
    *I used batteries for the required voltages.

    I couldn't include them all due to the photo limit.
    In the diagram;
    2 = 7.25V
    3 = -4.92V
    8 = Nothing
    11 = 8V
    12 = -4.26V
    13 = -4.66V

    Note: I wrote which section it belongs to as an explanation on the photos. When you enlarge the photo, it appears below, but in black.

    Coil Details;
    Hantek LCR Meter
    10khZ

    TX;
    Lp= 4.609mH
    X= 290 ohm
    Q= 27.36

    RX;
    LP= 5.415mH
    X= 340 ohm
    Q= 29.82

    Coil Wire: 0.40mm

    Shield: Not Connected

    Did you TEST the resonant freq of each coil???

    The TX coil when connected to the TX Oscillator should be 14.5kHz.
    The RX coil connected to the TX Oscillator is 16.1kHz.

    Here is the best documents on the TGSL.

    Also, one must test the circuits step by step to ensure each is properly working.

      I didn't have 0.25 (30 awg) wire in stock so I used 0.40.
      I'm going to buy 0.25 (30 awg) wire and re-coil and try.

        You did NOT answer the questions!!!!!!!

        DO this First- if Freq ok then proceed to check each circuit stage.

        There is NO MAGIC to make this work, just common electronic trouble shooting.

          Coil resonances are okay, I noticed this: when I connect -5volt to the 4th pin of the opamps, the speaker beeps constantly, but the opamps do not work. what should I do?

            Tgsl circuit does not work without the tx coil installed, if you have examined the circuit, pin 1 of the 4024 opamp is the clock input. If the tx coil does not work, the 4024 opamp cannot produce gnd at the output
