  • MC33078 and other stuff on Bandido II

    Hi all,
I'm collecting components to make the Bandido II uMax design (using Gary's PCB desing) and don't know what to use instead of MC33178 and maybe TLC2262.
I've contacted Farnell Co. and seems they haven't MC33178 and so I can buy in a local store the old MC33078 but don't know if they are a good replacement.
Also think that maybe MC33078s could replace TLC2262s.
What do you think about ?

Another thing: what are the right capacitors ? I have a revised schematic (from Gary) that uses different value. Which are corrects ?

    Best regards,
    Max

      Hi Satel,
I've already mc33078 and a lot of dual opamps (tl082, tl062 etc) and want to try these also but for initial tests I'll try to buy the originals from digitek becouse mc33178/tlc2262 seem to have a better noise figure.

      Best regards,
      Max

One IC you might try is the LS204 if you can't find the MC33178. It is a low power low noise opamp that Tesoro used earlier in their designs.

          Hi Reg,
thanks. I have some. Also on Mouser database seems a good crossref.
When my coil will be finished I'll test too. Actually I have 33078 from STmicro too. It's ok but consumes a lot - I have modified voltage converter to use them instead of originals 33178.

          Best regards,
          Max

            Hi Max and all
Please say me you’re the best instead for mc33178 and tlc2262
            On bandidoII.
            Best regards

              Hi,
ok... for MC33178 you can use MC33078 from ST... they need more current but are about the same of 33178 parts.

You could try also other stuff... but , generally speaking, you need low noise stuff ; I'll try with some TL072 in the case I cannot find MC33078.

For TLC2262 you have much more freedom, though you need to test for best performances. I remember that the TS27M2 , TS272, TS27L2 work pretty cool on bandidoII. All of them are good and about the same there. TS27M2 and TS27L2 have a low enough consumption for direct replacement of TLC2262 without touching the voltage converter (that's not efficient).

              Best regards,
              Max
