  • Homemade Bandido II real test...and founds

    Hi all,
this is just a report on my first serious test on bandido I've made.
Today morning I've tested on a real search field with bricks-pottery-etc
and targets as well and result is almost average.
    I've found :
-2 small coins copper made maybe from first 1900 years...really oxided (green)
-a bullet-shell from a rifle (brass) with little oxidation
-lot of tin foils and fragments of it (cigarette like)
    but then I've found too
    -3 pipes/pieces made of IRON
-7 various dimensions fragments of IRON
-a paint can...or something similar rusty IRON...
etc etc etc all IRON or foil
I've explored and dug for about 2 hours as first real test.
    Used DD 22cm coil.
I've noted that I get no smaller IRON fragments or objects but just big ones...the smaller
of these was long about 8cm, 1.5 diameter like a bar.
I've noted that I get some bricks signals at first but then well ground balancing I can cancel
out all bricks-pottery signals and that's really good news at least for this particular
    search-field I'm interested exploring.
First conclusion about bandido II is that is a good general purpose unit BUT DISC MODE have
problems with larger iron targets...can't disc so I've wasted much time trying to recover
good targets then end-up with large pieces of IRON !
But it found 2 coins made of copper of about 12mm diameter and that's good and also the bullet
shell...long about 5-6cm...good too in this messy searchfield !
Second conclusion is that, IRON detection apart, audio level is sometimes strange cause you
have to reduce sens when it starts to bleping...with random hum.
I've tested also under a big power line...and seems it worked really good. There I've found
the bullet shell and many foil and some aluminum-cans.
What to say...it's not too impressive as first test but, IRON apart that could be a big problem sometimes, I'm satisfied that
unit is stable and reliable. I think that those who need some relic from civil war search
or similar stuff can build it with lot of fun.

Question is ...why Bandido II umax detects so well big iron masses ???

    Best regards,
    Max
Working...
