i'm trying to finish tgsl but i stopped the work because i'm waiting for plastic sheets for coil enclosier..now working on original tesoro silver sabre umax board

hello,
i will try to make a working dd coil this weekend.
Hope it works.
I will use 0,28mm enamled copper wire TX 100 turns RX 105 turns.
Happy winding 1,2,3,4,5..........

on which hole on the bord i connect the RX start/end and the TX start/end
i know at the point where tx and rx is printed on but is it important to connect start / end in a special point
or only that rx and tx are right placed no matter were it starts or end?

must identify tx j1-1, tx j1-2 and rx j2-1, rx j2-2

TGSL runs since two days

but the coil making is horrible - got only 20cm for 1€ with my bad produced coil but Disc works ok.
Not so easy like Pi coils.
Next try coming weekend.

i don`t want to buy an origianl coil it should all be selfmade but if anyone in europe can make better coils than me i would buy a one for check and compare with mine.

you write your coil specs are
25cm coil
rx:14mH 38ohm
tx:6mH 23ohm

how many turns did you take for your RX (maybe 160) and which wire diameter is it?
Are there any changes on your pcb for the higher resitance of the RX?

Are there any others who tried to raise the RX inductance to more than double of TX.
Or did my coil not work so good because i have not shielded it for testing.

Ok, if nobody answers i do it myself.

the TGSL works great, but i have ordered a 9*8 5pin web coil (original).
I´m not able and i have not the time to make a good working diy coil at the moment.

The disc is working PERFECT.

I can tune the disc so that it shows a 1 euro coin besides a bottle cap in a distance round 30cm. It is posssible to find a small alu foil piece or disc it out, i can differ between iron, alu, brass etc.

If i had more time in future i will try a new diy coil.

OR somebody on forums sells them in future?

but now its time for field testing all my new detectors

Can anyone give me info which resistor value i should use for volume control on tgsl.
Want to place it in row with +line of audio out to headphone connector plug.
