What is the right way to wire up a tesoro coil
I have orange grey purple green and 2bare wires the coil is a 5 pin widescan

Here's the diagram ->
The dotted screen connection is made inside the search head.
Sometimes the colors are different. and I suspect your green wire is the same as the orange one below. Often there is a spare wire in the cable that is unused.

after i have disconnected the original plug from the coil cable i see what you mean

the wires at the coil cable and the wires at the box plug have different wire colors

so link it likes this

coil wires to wires from connection at box

grey to white
nothing to black
purple to green
orange to red
shield to shield (center bare wire)

in the box i have connected black and shield if it makes sense or not ?- equal it works

tested it because i removed original plug and replaced it with 5pin microphone plug/connector
and it works

Can anyone give me info which resistor value i should use for volume control on tgsl.
Want to place it in row with +line of audio out to headphone connector plug.

with resistor value i mean which resistance should a vol potentiometer have to get a working vol control most there are used 1k potis

has anyone experience with it?

My TGSL-EDU kit came yesterday first time I've pulled a sicky
coil I made was only giving me9--10cm tesoro widescan coil gives me 28-32 cm
Disc works and all metal great.sorry no pics

hello woody

no worry with my selfmade coil i got similar bad results
before shielding after shielding i could raise the distance up to 25cm for a 1€uro piece
and not perfect nulled too only arranged so that i got the highest distance
but my coil the disc dont work before i shield it does works
no matter the next weeks i use the original coil
maybe later i try a new diy coil

are you the woody who sells me his 9*8 web coil on ebay?

Hy i finished my tgsl edu black version from silverdog , i used a round concentic white original 5 pin coil
the proplem is, i get no deep only 5cm for 1 euro coin disc is working but not good.
the wires are grey,purple,blue,orange and two bare wires.
what is the right way to wire up this tesoro coil
please help

I believe this is correct, your 2 bare wires can be twisted together
