  • My latest TGSL setup so far

    Hi
Almost finshed this one its housed in a scrap portable hard drive housing, its tight but got everything in there apart from speaker which i dont normall fit in the same housing anyway.
Similar to my last one with all the latest mods incl charger socket.
The main differences between this one and the previous one is theres no out the bag components here every single component has been double checked by me for 100% specifaction as put down by Ivioncs spec, its took longer to do that than build it, gone through bags of components just to find the levels we require

As you all know what prompted me to build this one to such hi spec tolerence was because of all the variations in the different builds on here and im pretty convinced it been mainly down to component specifactions so this really is the only way to prove it, thats providing of course we got the right spec in the first place.
Also taken special attention to parts of the circuits that requires precision matching of components, wont go into that because its been discussed many times.
Another thing I put on here which I made sometime ago is a patch lead so if you go down the avenue as I did and put TX/RX CXs into the coil housing so as you can make and use/experiment multi variations of coils, you will still be able to use tesoro manufactures coils because in this instance you would need CX other than in the main housing.
If you notice on the pic ive connected the 3 CXs on the back of a further chassis mount 5 pin plug as like most of us use on here, Connected the third connection from the main PCB where the 22nf and the 220nf use same common track, wired directly with high quality twin audio cable to pin 2 which normally is N/A by tesoro design, making the patch lead 1M long on purpose because the manufacture lead lenths are a bit on the short side, infact if you hip mount as sometimes I do your otherwise knackered so its hit two birds with one stone so to speak.
The only thing left now is IC placements, got a few different types from different supplyers etc so will be experimenting with those and let you know.
Ive fitted BF245As instead of Cs suposed to be that much better overall performance or at least the As used to be back in the old days maybe things have changed.
Will fit hugos two tone standalone when the rest is done and dusted, ive made two PCBs and mounted components on one, made two because it was easer to handle due to the small size of the project.
By the way when I got time will post pictures of my double 12" 00s with syinthetic graphite shielding, very impressive may I add im pleased the way that side of things have turned out even though still early days and have a couple more ideas up my sleeve.
Once im happy with that will do detailed report under the coils section for all to see.
    All the best

    Regards
