hello, I found an interesting version of the tgsl on the net I leave you so you can review. it is a version in surface components (cms) so the size is quite small. this is a great job.

Now that it a nice bit of engineering, very smart.
Already built to of Ivonics versions using through hole and they work exceptionaly well.
If my eyes were 20 years younger would loved to have built this version because it leaves options for lcd etc due to its compact size could easily be all mounted in one compact housing using two pp3 type batterys = 18v regulated to 12v and mounted on stem would be very smart piece of kit.
Pipe dreaming for me but very do able for those with hawk eyes.
Although I like making projects from scratch ie my own circuit boards constructing housings etc, I would be tempted if someone like silver dog could produce a partly built board with smd components attached, or are there older engineers like myself where there eyes are not as good like mine who have over come mounting these smaller devices could possibly give some tips on how they have over come the problem??.
Ive got the hospital type big maginifiers, problem is irons solder etc also come giant so it sort of defeats the object.
Far as making the pcb it would be know problem for me as over the years ive mastered the procedure just using paper and laser print off with exceptional results.

Anyway nice design ever who produced the above, and thanks young man for posting it on here.

    Regards

It appears that the PCB was made with a milling machine. Perhaps the tooling height was slightly wrong, as there are several "dodgy" areas on the board where the copper was not completely removed. It looks very nice though!

Which machine was used to create this board?

Hello, I do not know what system was used for the design. I found it by chance on the net. the pcb is very clean and I think we can achieve it without problem, just need good eyes and trembled not to weld surface components. What is nice is that it dramatically reduces the size of the card and therefore this leaves plenty of room to establish battery or LCD screen; less accuracy for the map can be made by the intermediary of a company, for the components is not very expensive but must be very careful

seems to come from here http://atv.hamradio.si/~s51kq/photo_...ects_/TGSL-KQ/

I was sent an smd layout of bandido as well but have not tried it yet, like this one, am not sure if it is working or has errors

I have had quite a few people asking for smd boards, if i get a few boards made who is interested in a free board to see if they work ?

I think the PCB is correct. a survey to see if several people are interested

My eyes may regret it but I am willing to give it a shot.

the pcb is beautiful but it is for the bandito, I prefer his TGSL discrimination is efficient.

can you post the layout files if you have
i will try to etch, last smd board was for goldscan 4- i hope i can reproduce such results

                            regards
