    Hi Hugo,

do you have a schematic Diagram for the TGSL SMD and for Bandio SMD ??? Today i have finished the Bandido SMD too, but i have the same problem on Bandido! Only on Bandido i get a Signal on a very big object, but the depth is pooooooor .

So i need the schematic Diagram for Bandido SMD and Tgsl SMD with positive and negative voltages.....

    Thanks

        Hi Hugo,

i have removed all IC`s from socket, but the oscillator doesen´t work. Can i have a closer Picture from your TGSL on SMD side? Which Capacitor do you have on RX and TX Side for your Minelab Coil??? I have the TS1000 Coil too.....

The first picture shows the zener Diode!

The last picture shows the 4 mounted components, but the last 47k is ending on Basis Pin from 2N2907 (see the red line) . Is this right ???? so if yes, the last 47k haven´t any function, because it have no electrical contact to the other components ....

        thanks

          Hi firebox,
I'll send you a closer view in a PM.
My TX capacitor is 300nF and RX is 10nF.
Your right, the 47K resistor is useless.
The minelab oscillator can works alone. It just needs to be powered. Connect your TX coil to it and you should see a sine wave signal at the TX pad.
If it's ok, re-install the addon board on the main board and check if you can see this signal at the base of TR6.
Now, check you see a square wave at the pin 1 of the 4024.
          Good luck,
          Regards,
          Hugo

            Hi Hugo,

on OSC. PIN i have the 9Khz wave signal. After the 100k resitor i have the wave shown on the first picture and on picture 2 you see the wave from Pin 1 of the 4024

            regards

The signals are correct. Now check if you have got square waves on the outputs of the 4024.
If so, it should drive the negative voltage converter.
              Regards,

                Hello Hugo,

                - On 4024 on Pin 12 there is no output signal!! nothing.... i belive the 4024 is defect! that would also explain the missing negative voltage on the TGSL.

                - By the way, what is the best working frequency for tgsl. Currently I measure 9 khz on TX side.

                - When i srew on the Poti on Addon Board, i see the amplitude will be higher or lower depending on which direction I turn the screw. Is a max. amplitude better, oder a lower one???

                - I noticed that if I run the detector with a 9 volt battery, it has much more depth than when it operates with a power supply. Can it be? if yes, why ?

                Regards

                  Hello Firebox,
                  - Your 4024 is probably dead ! I can see on your photo that it's a HC4024. The max. supply voltage is 6V and it's powered with 8V ...
You better use a HCF or HEF4024, Max. supply voltage is 18V.
                  - The circuit design give TX:14.5 / RX:16.1 Khz
                  - The pot. on the addon board set the amplitude of the TX sin wave. It should be set in order to get a maximum and symetrical sine wave.
If you set it to high, the positive part of the sine wave will be distorded.
                  -

Do you mean 9V without the 8V voltage regulator ? If so, there is a version of the Minelab TX stage where it's powered under 9V through a 7809 reg. See IGSL project.
                  Regards,
                  Hugo

                    Hi Hugo,

yes, you´re right! this was my problem! so i will order this one:

                    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ht_2599wt_1024

                    hope it works

                        • hello, for those who want to engage in the manufacture of SMD TGSL be careful when choosing components cms, as remarked Hugo, eg HC4024 is not suitable because the power supply voltage must not exceed 6 volts. should therefore be taken as stated above example one hcf4204 or its supply voltage allows the 8 volt regulator.

I recalls that the 4204 and there for the sound threshold of about 400 kHz and is also used to create the voltage of 6 volts.
For the operating frequency of the TX must be around 14 kHz if it is not the case either a wrong value in the components used is the value of the TX coil is bad is the portion of the electronic card TX is down.

                          • Here are a new video from my TGSL SMD Detector:

                              congratulation.
