EE Treasure Hunter prob

hi there

i am currently building the stuart one pi detector however changing small parts of the circuit, is it possible to test this in simulation first before i pcb it, i read somewhere about possibly putting an inductor where the coil should be and selecting values however i dont know the truth in this or to what value to change it to.
