  • The correct coil for silverdog surf pi 1.2

Hello everyone, I am building the silverdog surf pi 1.2 , I would like to build 2 coils, one 10 "and one 8", I have 0.51 mm enamelled copper wire available. around I read that a correct coil should be between 350-400 uh (confirmed?) and in the instructions I found they recommend about 20 turns of wire for a dimeter of about 23 cm. Do any of you know the original white's plate what inductance does it have? Sorry for my don't perfect english ......

    Best regards from Sicily

You are on the right way.

I managed inductance of about 330uH for Surf-PI and for some other PI projects too.

    Wish you all success.

in real life we do 'BASKET' or 'FAST' or 'FASTEST' coil. this forum has good advanced SEARCH engine. use it.

my idea was to 3D print a round support where to test various windings ..... as soon as I find what satisfies me, I create the mold of the plate with the 3d printer, I put it inside the support and the waterproof cable gland and close everything with thermal shock resistant nautical resin

I have an original Surfmaster coil - it measured 254uH on my meter

Hello silverdog, in the pcb there are 2 point signed TP1 and TP2 (near delay trimmer) what function do they have? another question, IS possible add a button for no motion mode/pinpoint in this circuit? i have just build a prototipe coil, 10" monoloop 260uH and 1,5 ohm without cable coil.......
