  • Ok guys,

let's face with the USB power noise. I'll try a simple transistor shunt regulator for active noise removing. Let's look how is that working. Could make the power input inductor obsolete.
I'm lazy and it could take some time ... (as usual and the week-end is almost starting..)
    Cheers,
    Aziz

    • Hi all,

an LDO (low drop out voltage regulator) for the LC oscillator only would be fine. Maybe the fixed ones for 3.3V?
      No! No! Nooooooooooooo!

      I could waste the voltage drop of 5V - 3.3V = 1.7 V much easier and simpler:
      A multi-stage R-C low-pass filter (3 to 4'th order) ... KISS-principle

The shunt regulator isn't all the effort worth. LDO is nice but makes it difficult to get the special part. A discrete solution requires more parts. And I'm going to fuxx off the 10µF USB specification limit (a bit).

Let's filter the power supply for the LC-oscillator first and then look at it. The DC/DC converter and the op-amp part does not need an extra filtering.

      Cheers,
      Aziz

      • Hi all,

yes indeed, the third order simple RC filter is more effective. But the battery solution is still ten times more quiet than the RC filtered USB power version (the dumb software coding version used).

I'm going to leave the RC filter and the power input inductor so all the noise can pass to the controller and I'm going to do the noise cancellation with software coding. All the information is there (TX reference). BTW, this is more challenging too. Why do you follow the easy way, when you can make it much much more complicated?
(Hell no!, we are going to save more power, use less parts, making it cheaper and do the tricky software coding ).

No, I'm not going to leave the KISS-principle path. Well, if you can't handle the noise issue by the pure software coding, then use the battery solution. OK?

        Cheers,
        Aziz

        • Good Working Battery Solution

          Hi all,

I'll tell you a configuration, which is working extremely good (the dumb KISS version).
(You don't need a tricky software coding for it )

Use an LDO voltage regulator (L 4940 V85) and regulate the battery voltage (9 V - 10 V input) into +8.5V and power the VLF controller with it. All the configuration consumes approx. 44 mA @ apporox. 9.6V (center-tapped TX coil configuration operated at approx. 34 kHz). And you have very clean signals and can use the simplified software coding. The sensitivity is incredible high.

          • I'm stopping the thread until someone is willing to solve and share the results of a big PI technology problem:
The subtraction method of two samples in the PI technology.
            WTF is it?
            ...---...

              • Hey guys,

I'm working on my 3'rd and 4'th arrest warrants. Don't panik, when I'm offline for a while.

Collecting arrest warrants is my passion. Especially out of the degenerated and perverted jurisdictions.

Hey ML!, if you're intending to sue me, come on!, hurry up!!!

                *LOL*
                Aziz

                PS:
I have wound a new RX coil and I'm going to test the very basic KISS version (the n-mosfet version without the RX amplifier) . I'll compare it against the amplifier version, whether the KISS version suffices.

                • Aziz. Sounds good what you have done on a computer designing a detector. But when can we expect a good PI detector that is better than anything out there? We don't need to see the insides, but just see it find gold in highly mineralized ground.

Or anyone else out there. All designs look good on a simulation done on a computer, but building one that beats what is available is the challenge. Have not seen it happen yet. Good luck to all of you.

Even one that copies other patents and is for your own private use. I have yet to even see one of them yet.

                    • *LOL*
PJ knows, that I don't need someone else IP/patent (but don't confuse with natural laws - these can't be owned). Even not ML's. I own - oops - the "Madlabs Inc."(c)(r)(tm) owns the best technology, which ML isn't even capable of.
There technology isn't a secret & mystery. We all (at least me) know how to do it better.
                      *LOL*

PS: The new RX coil with high inductivity is achieving super sensitivity and depth (TX operated with 4 x 1.2 V cells). I'm really impressed for its simplicity. But it requires a good shielding to eliminate capacitive coupling effects. Oh yes, its resonant frequency is around 33 kHz with the parasitic interwire coil capacitance. It limits my operating frequency region and I should use slightly less inductivity RX coil next time. The residual RX coil voltage is well above the noise floor and I can detect the faint signals without an amplifier.

Nothing dug. I was wondering about this "Madlab" link and the connection to Aziz.

And who is that with the soldering iron?

                          WTF!!!!

That's a different company. I'm looking like much much more mad.
I'm working (well, going crazy) for "MadLabs Inc."(c)(r)(tm).

The exact one that works free

Seriously, it seams we are waiting for something special.

                            Next CHAPTER...

Hey, but I insist on being a madman!!!!!

The "MadLabs Inc."(c)(r)(tm) is merely a virtual company (a ghost company im my so-called "crazy" mind only). And it is strictly restricted not to make any $$$ profits $$$ (company order #1). Hey, I'm working for "MadLabs Inc."(c)(r)(tm) and not for "GreedLab Pty Ltd."(c)(r)(tm).

(You know, the kraut officials being out for my (not existent) money ... Hell no!, the "MadLabs Inc."(c)(r)(tm) first mad engineer has no money to the evil kraut government (lowlife barristers, lawyers, etc. ) . I freely choose to be arrested. Company order #6: Don't pay for perverted jurisdiction! Go directly to the jail! And if I don't follow the company rule #6, I have to fire myself. )

Oh man!, I really like this game.
