  • Hello Aziv,
For your bad back problem , years ago i have some very bad and one solution it is .... that you do not drink enough water ....YOU MUST DRINK A MINIMUM OF 2,5 liters a DAY ...it is very important for all the parts of the body without water you have many problem else.....
    hope you have better health
    saludos

      Hi Alexismex,

yes, you might be really right. Spot on your advice. We all are shrinking during the day due to gravity and the loss of water in the intervertebral disc. During the night, water will be embedded in it and we grow a bit again.
My problem is a typical trapped nerve, which is radiating left-side pain to the fingers, arm, shoulder and back. So I need more water in my intervertebral discs at first. Next step would be strenghening the back muscels.

I should really drink more water (not beer ). I'll make a controlled experiment about this. Thanks for your tip.

        Aziz,

surviving a helicopter crash, 35 years ago, I suffered similar injuries. A trapped nerve that affected the arms and another one that affected the legs. Many years later a very good chiropractor managed to improve the condition through massage and advice for careful gentle spinal exercise that really helped a lot. However, he warned me that the disks are unstable and easily go out of whack again and this has happened quite a few times over the years.
        Stress usually aggravates the condition.
Good chiropractors are hard to find, but if you find one it is worth paying him in gold.

        All the best

        • Hi all,

I finally finished the last Al-foil folding adventure. This was the longest 30 m to fold and insulate. I have now 60 m of finest Al-stripe. This should be enough for one big and light weight coil (transmitter of two-box coil).

I have ordered some special and expensive mosfets (>10 EUR each), which very likely will arrive tomorrow. You know, the ones beginning with IX...

BTW, I feel better now so I can continue my work.

          Cheers,
          Aziz

            Hi Aziz

Is this basic idea of your last (big Alu coil) invention?

              That's not a half-bad idea... I wonder...

              • Hi WM6,

no, I am going to use a simple two-box induction balance coil configuration. You know, the ones, which goes deep as well.

BTW, the configuration you provided is a ground loop configuration. I am not interested on this configuration.

                • The Right Capacitors.

                  Hi all,

have a look at these capacitors:
                  http://www.wima.de/EN/fkp1.htm

These are the right good ones for the high power IB-PI detector version (low loss, stable, reliable, high pulse current, low ESR, low inductance, polypropylene (PP), metal foil electrodes, high voltage). One need a bunch of small capacitors (10-20x or more), which are connected in parallel to achieve a high pulse requirement. Same applies to the buffer electrolyt capacitors of course.

You must see the 0.22 µF/1250V- version. Indeed, a heavy duty capacitor. But I won't use the bigger ones. I want to make a capacitor bank with small caps.

BTW, look at the induction heater topics in the internet. Very interesting. My IB-PI detector has much to do with these induction heaters.

                  Aziz

PS: I didn't get one of the IX.. mosfets (out of stock). Unfortunately not. Maybe next month.

                  • Tablet PC War

                    Hi all,

I am watching the current tablet PC war. Thanks to iPad from iExpensiveLabInc. (YKW), which made the tablet PC's popular last days. Bloody f$$k, the tablet pc is known at least for 10-15 years! I am sure, the companies have waited until the relevant patent's got expired. And there were made some technological breakthrough as well.

There are many different platforms at the moment. A lot of different operating systems (Windows 7, Android, WebOS, etc. ) . A lot of closed source/totally closed platforms too. Less USB support (except for the Intel and Windows versions).

This is difficult to plan and develop at the moment, as there are many lots of bad cookers right now. Let them fight until the tablet pc gets attractive, cheap and useful.

In the mean time, I will get rid of the external USB sound card. The detector software should run with the built-in internal sound card. The trend is, that there will be better sound card codec chips built-in in the device in the future. (Some of them should have already 24-bit @96 kHz. )

                    Aziz

                    • BTW, the iPad is still to big for my purpose. Let's make it smaller:

                      • Digital Signal Processing Book

                        Hi all,

let's do something constructive and not destructive.

A good and complete book for download:

THE SCIENTIST & ENGINEER'S GUIDE TO DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
                        by Steven W. Smith

You know, I'm doing almost everything in digital signal processing. This book is worth to look at it.
                        Cheers,

yep, this book is really fine and a very good find as well.
Suck it completely. Second and third times. Make it to your second Bible.

I do find lot's of interesting aspects of digital signal processing and it generates very interesting ideas.

                            • I want to seperate the detector from the pc by using a transmitter module and receiver module.

The problem is that I only have one ASK transmitter, and one matching receiver.
A friend of mine told me that I can short circuit my ground to the (D-) pin, and the data will pass through the (D+) pin correctly.

                              Is it true?

Would you describe, what you want to do? The PC/laptop/netbook/tablet PC is the core of the processing part.
Which kind of data would you like to transfer?
Which radio module are you referring to?

The ASK (amplitude shift keying) is a digital modulation type. Most of the available radio modules aren't suitable for this job.
