  • SilverSurfer, I'm tempted to pay you 10c for every comma or period you use, but I'm afraid you'll start posting in Braille.

        • I got my parts today got the board working again i put the hook on TP5 the other hook on TP2 as soon as i touched the clip of prob from TP5 channel 1 to TP1 it cut off the power supply and the voodoo removed it and it went back on so it was shorting it

What coil do you have connected?

We are unable to see the whole waveform as your time base is set to just 10uS

You need to increase the voltage by 2 times at source to stabilize the output. Power fluctuations can create an erroneous effect on scope readings at certain times. Have you got a 24 or 36 power supply?
I had the same result and once connected to 38 volts or more but not above 50v it calmed down the output effect to what I expected to see.

If you continue to power the detector from your computer supply then you will keep blowing up the circuit every time you connect the scope. You should be using a battery pack, or a mains-driven supply with isolated outputs and the capability to deliver the surge current required.

                        • Ok i have a bunch of wall wart 12 volt different amp chargers a car battery and i also have 6 18650 batteries i wanted to use a 4s at 16 volts then a dc to dc converter to turn it down but i dont have the 4s bms board yet or the converter can i use a car battery or will it not limit the amperage if not ill order the 4s bms board now and the converter

I posted a few days ago here How I power detector circuits on the bench and HOW to protect them with a current limiter.
                            Scroll back up and read.

                              • Ill just order the 4s and the converter and isolate it from the house ground no biggie i can move around with the detector then anyway ok thank you very much guys much appreciated
