Coil shield spacer

Hi everybody,
Im new to coil making and there is something I can't quite understand. I know that coil shield spacers reduce capacitance which makes the coil faster however I don't have spiral wrap. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find spiral wrap in Bulgaria. So I was wandering weather I can use Teflon tape. The kind plumbers use to seal pipe links. Thank you in advance.

Teflon tape is very thin
Teflon is fine for high voltage, but that's about it.

Use bubble wrap or any type of foamed plastic, foamed PE or PP makes a good spacer.
