  • Coil for HH DETECTORPRO PULSE

    Good evening,
    you can build a coil for HH detectorpro pulse?

    There is someone who has built a coil for HH pulse?

      Do you have this detector?

        Yes, I have the detectorpro HH PI with 8" coil, would build me the coil 11".

          If you measure data of your 8" coil (Inductance and Resistance of coil windings) then we can discus further possibilities.

            The Headhunter PI uses a std mono coil which is fairly easy to build. Mostly match the inductance of the stock coil.

              Ok, as soon as I can I measure the resistance and inductance of the current coil 8",
              then I try to make a larger one with the same electrical characteristics.

              Thanks

                Good decision ansi. Please post your measurement here too.

                Hope coil connector is not something special and hard to achieve? Anyway there is always solution.

                  I measured whith LCR Meter the original coil 8 " to 1KHz:

                  L=1.063 mH
                  R=8.88 Ohm
                  0.75 Q

                  I tried to calculate theoretically , but I can not find a configuration between L=1063 mH with R=8.88 Ohm . It may be that in the coil there is some passive component?

                  Thanks

                    Maybe you are wrong...maybe a L=1063 uH and not L=1063 mH...

                      I confirm, the instrument shows me:
                      L = 1 mH
                      R = 9 Ohm
                      I tried again several times, but always the same result....

                        It is possible that the connector cable or the coil that is damping resistor...
                        Can you photographing PCB in a better resolution to see...?

                          points with commas

                          Dear Maikl,
                          the photo of the PCB I have not made because the instrument is under warranty and I would not open it.

                          I also measured the three original contacts A - B - C:
                          A - B = 8,63 Ohm - 1,06 mH - 0,77 Q
                          A - C = 0,021 Ohm - uH 0,22 - 0,06 Q
                          B - C = 8,63 Ohm - 1,06 mH - 0,77 Q

                          I built a prototype coil 12 "with 40 turns of 28 AWG wire:
                          8,26 Ohm - 1,18 mH
                          Risk of breaking the MD with these differences?

                          thanks a lot,
                          Angelo

                            Coil of HH DETECTORPRO PULSE can work on Delta Pulse, see link "Reply #13" http://www.thunting.com/smf/pi_desig...6771#msg236771
                            What does it mean to be and vice versa...
                            Best regards.

                              The HH should work fine with the coil you made. Since the HH is a low powered PI, there is a limiting resistor that limits the current into the coil, thus most any coil around 1mh should work without hurting anything. In fact, I suspect you could use coils down to 300 uh without any problems also.
