  • coil to rod mount

What's everyone using on their homebrew coils to attach it to the rod? Don't want to use metal but figure there might be something starting me in the face

    Thanks
    Ben

I used nylon self-locking cable ties to fix a fitting of a mop. It goes nowhere and it is all plastic.

The nylon bolts for holding toilet seats to the fixture are the right diameter and length. Most hardware store sell them packages of two.

Are you talking about the Ears that the Shaft Mount in?

Yeah the ears on the coil itself. I'm all over the nylon bolt!

            Thanks all

Without a shell which have the ears built in, your options get more limited. Davor came up with a neat trick on his IGSL with a mop handle I believe. Only other option I can think of off hand would be to fashion your ears from 1/4 inch thick (6mm) plastic or plywood paneling and epoxy that to your base.

I made wood forms and vacuum formed plastic over them for coil shells. These have the ears built in and have the advantage of once the form is made, they are very easy to make.

There is a good deal of information on vacuum forming coil shells here: http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...mplete-Details

              Hope this helps.

You can make "ears" from square plastic conduit
cut it to a L shape and use nylon bolts.
