  • DIY datas for small lorenz deepmax x5 coil needed

    hello

    yesterday a detectorist from my region visited me and asked me for a small DIY coil for lorenz deepmax x5

    he had a bigger coils with, i think, the 35cm version

    it is a kind of dd shaped coil for pi units with separeted connection cables

    was very hard to measure because the pins are deep in the connector plug

    but i was able to measure sure one line with 1,14mH

    i suppose that the two side has same mH, shield, but i think they dont overlap like vlf dd coil because of coil form it has a big straight part in the middle

    means they are fitted side by side or with little distance 1-2cm

    thats not sure but i think so

    has anyone soem experience with this machine or s able to measure the coils over the plug

    to give me the specs

    the task is to build a small (20cm) dd coil for better separation with working ground balance

    the is no commercial thought behind but i think its an interesting task to solve

    coil connector has following plug

    i will try to measure again a second when time makes it possible

    but would be kind if someone who has this machine in use could measure too

      hello some news

      the coil is an overlapping DD configuration like the one we know from the vlf projects

      so i think it is a type of pulse iduction balanced coil

      the riddle is now how to setup this one

      for example on igsl coil we tune the coil so that the rx part gives a the smallest induced voltage
      we do that by sending a waveform signal from tx to rx

      at a pi coil is no continuing waveform there are short pulses so how could i measure whether the hole unit is tuned the right way

      idea from me is to link an othr pi (example baracuda) at original coil to tx and se what comes out t the tx part?

        The balancing for an induction balanced coil on a PI is not critical. One of the reasons for using an PI-IB coil is to allow the RX coil to have more turns (higher inductance value) to increase sensitivity. The IB arrangement also provides better pinpointing than a mono.

          rx 1,14mH 9R

          one parallel resistor inside coil on one side 211R or 2,01k cant measure because it was parallel to coil could only read the lines
