  • Minelab TS1000 plug connection needed

    Hello,

if somebody could say how the original TS1000 plug is connected i would be happy.
I mentioned i was a 5pin microphone plug, but at which pin goes the shield?

    kind regards from germany

There are two coax cables within the outer jacket. One has a heavier guage center
conductor (Clear) with a shield made of magnet wire.

The other coax has a smaller guage center conductor(Black) with magnet wire shield.

Pin 1 Heavy coax shield Tx
Pin 2 Clear (heavy Guage) Tx
    Pin 3 Light shield Rx
    Pin 4 Black (light Guage)Rx
    Pin 5 Not connected

The colors may have changed, just make 1&2 heavy guage and 3&4 light guage.

    Hope it helps

      Hi Altra,

are you sure that this are the right pin connection from the Minelab TS-1000 Coil ??? On my TS-1000 Pin 5 is connected to RX Side!! Pin 3 is not connected

I have measured the following values:

      Pin 1 and Pin2 = TX (1,03mH)
      Pin3 = not connected
      Pin 4 and Pin 5 = RX (15,03mH)

      regards

The information I posted above is for the Minelab E-trac/Explorer coil. Which has a TX of about 575uH/.9ohm and the Rx 530uH/4ohm

Bernte_one didn't state which model detector the coil was from. Sorry for the confusion, what model does your coil fit?

        Regards

Edit: I see it fits the Musketeer- disregard the above info

            Hi Bernte_one,

here is the answer to my own question

The following is the wiring layout for the TS1000 Coil. Answered on email by an minelab employee!

Pin 1 – Shield of Clear (Red wire) TX
            Pin 2 – Clear TX
            Pin 3 – Not Connected
Pin 4 – Shield of Black (Red wire) RX
            Pin 5 – Black RX

            Thanks for help!

            Regards from Germany
