coil position question

Hello. I have seen some commercial heads where the rx/buck coil is not in the middle of the tx coil.
I cannot null et mine unless I move off centre - quite away off when I get 2mV.
Why is this ? Is it because my coils are not perfect circles ?

Probably you don't have the bucking turns just right, and it only needs to be off 1/10th of a turn for a major difference. Usually one of the tails of the bucking coil is left long to move around for fine nulling.

Thanks for that, seems I still am not accurate enough! Keep trying...Did a lot of stuff today to report on and hope to help other builders.
Will post it anyway, but finally, it really is working well so planning to go into the field and become rich.
