  • XR71 sniffer coil

    Hello
I have built a xr71 sniffer PI detector I received information on the coil however nothing on the actual mechanical building method I'm looking to make a square coil around 2ft x 2ft I have seen several pictures of coils people have made but I still have some questions.
    1. how can you feed the coil wires around the pvc loop? aproxx 16 to 20 turns
    2. how do you secure the coil bundle in the pvc pipe once you have the coils inside. i'm sure you don't want the wire bouncing around.
if anybody has put one together I sure would appreciate some pointers.

wow thanks kt315 that's what I was looking for, I see how you were able to string the coil through the pipe with relative ease. I was thinking maybe laying it out on a large table with the joints separated a little bit or maybe making the coil first and supporting it with wood dowel's. but that looks like an easyer methode. did you do anything to keep the coil in a tight bundle inside the pvc? I'm not sure if movement of the coil will effect the detection I plan to tow the coil behind an atv and it will probably get bounced around quite a bit. and lastly what depth are you getting.
